Get to know the people who keep SIOR HQ moving forward. Howard Hurey, Membership Data Specialist, joined SIOR in 2022 and brings organization and humor to the team. From favorite foods to 80s TV shows, Howard shares a little about himself in this edition of Meet the HQ Team. Read on for 10 questions with Howard.
1. What’s your dream travel destination and why?
Italy because I love Italian food. Spaghetti and meatballs, Pizza, lasagna etc. etc.
2. How does your work contribute to SIOR’s overall mission?Making certain that our members records and profiles are up to date keeps members informed about all things related to the overall mission of SIOR. Staying on top of the information provided by our members is key to members being able to effectively communicate to other members and the SIOR HQ team.
3. Coffee or tea, and how do you take it?
I prefer tea over coffee, and I drink it raw or sometimes with honey.
4. Are you more of an early bird or a night owl?
I’m more of a night owl.
5. Tell us a surprising or a fun fact about you.
I’m a professional wrestling and NASCAR geek. When I was a kid, I imagined myself as a world champion, like Nature Boy Ric Flair because he was always my favorite wrestler to watch. NASCAR became the second sport I love to watch because of the technical aspects and how difficult it is to win on the tracks NASCAR drivers race on.
6. What is your favorite season and why?
Summer is my favorite season because I love being at the beach or at a swimming pool. Believe it or not I love tanning too even though it burns like crazy.
7. If you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Cheese or vegetarian pizza
8. What’s something unique about the SIOR HQ team that you think people should know?
Each team member comes from different work backgrounds with select skills which makes working together as a team a pleasure.
9. What’s your favorite way to unwind after a busy week?
I like to watch or binge 80’s television series like V, Alien Nation or The X-files.
10. What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
Life is like a game of dice. Roll them right the first time because you seldom get to roll them twice.
