Get to know the people who keep SIOR HQ moving forward. John Manganiello, Senior Vice President of Business Development, joined SIOR in 2019 and brings lots of humor to the team. From a strong love of baseball to favorite foods, John shares a little about himself in this edition of Meet the HQ Team. Read on for 10 questions with John.
1. What’s one project or initiative you’re most proud of?
I’m very proud of the Global Industry Partner, Corporate Brokerage Partner, and Annual Industry Partner programs that we have built and expanded. CRE is a relationship‑based industry, and being able to build key relationships and collaborate with strong partners who understand the value of partnering with SIOR Global for both the long term and the short term benefits the companies that support us and helps SIOR build a foundation for the future.
2. How does your work contribute to SIOR’s overall mission?REVENUE! SIOR has two main revenue streams-Membership and Non-Dues Revenue (Sponsorship). I handle the Non-Dues Revenue stream, which includes the sale of Partnerships, Sponsorships, Exhibit Spaces, and Media/Advertising. Most of that revenue is generated by our FANTASTIC Spring and Fall Events every year. It’s awesome to collaborate with our AMAZING Events Team and our WONDERFUL Marketing team to build and watch these TREMENDOUS events come together, and CELEBRATE them with our partners and our team.
3. Coffee or tea, and how do you take it?
Tea. Decaf Green Tea after a long day.
4. What’s your dream travel destination and why?
The National Baseball Hall of Fame in Upstate New York. We travel a lot overseas, but I’ve never been there. So much history about the sport I truly love.
5. Tell us a surprising or a fun fact about you.
I was a Los Angeles Dodger Batboy for a day when I was 7 years old. Got to meet Don Drysdale, Vin Scully, Walter Alston, and Satchel Paige. Sat in the dugout with the players the entire game-still have the uniform I wore.
6. How would your coworkers or friends describe you in three words?
Optimistic, Empathetic, Humorous.
7. If you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Scotch Eggs or Cacio e Pepe.

At SIOR HQ, we have a GREAT TEAM that works extremely hard to achieve the high expectations of our Members, our Board, and each other. When you’re part of the BEST organization in the CRE Industry, elevating your game is key!!!
9. What’s your favorite way to unwind after a busy week?
Spending time with my family—my wife, my sons, and my grandchildren—just relaxing watching sports and having a great meal.
10. What is your favorite season and why?
BASEBALL SEASON, of course!!!
