Get to know the people who keep SIOR HQ moving forward. Kelly Miller, Executive Vice President, Member Experience, joined SIOR in 2022 and brings high energy and a creative mindset to the team. From strategic plans to sunsets, Kelly shares a little about herself in this edition of Meet the HQ Team. Read on for 10 questions with Kelly.
1. What’s your role at SIOR, and what does a typical day look like?
Executive Vice President, Member Experience. No two days are the same. I represent SIOR at events around the world while also overseeing our 49 chapters, which keeps me frequently on the road. Much of my work happens early in the morning and late in the evening, with time during the day dedicated to engaging directly with members. Those interactions are essential, they provide real-time insight into evolving member needs and inform how we shape programs and experiences moving forward.
2. What’s one project or initiative you’re most proud of?I joined SIOR at a pivotal moment, just three weeks into my role, we convened for a strategic planning session to launch our five-year vision. It has been incredibly rewarding to witness the progress since then, and I am genuinely looking forward to contributing to our continued momentum at the upcoming strategic planning meeting this August.
3. What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
Keep emotion out of it.
4. What’s your dream travel destination and why?
Antarctica…Penguins, Whales, and having to go through the Drake Straight…..
5. Tell us a surprising or a fun fact about you.
I know all the words to "We Didn’t Start the Fire."
6. Are you more of an early bird or night owl?
Early Bird…. Sorry in advance for anyone who gets my 4 or 5 am emails 😊
7. If you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Fried Chicken, Mashed Potatoes and Broccoli

9. What’s your favorite way to unwind after a busy week?
Sunsets and live music.
