From favorite season to surprising fun facts, Nita shares a little about herself in this edition of Meet the HQ Team. Read on for 10 questions with Nita.
1. What is the best advice you've ever received?
“Sometimes in life it’s not what you know but who you know.” and “Talk to the Lord.” – both from my father, David.
2. If you could swap jobs with anyone on the team for a day, who would it be?David Lockwood
3. Coffee or tea, and how do you take it?
I’m a fan of a percolated freshly ground organic roasts poured into heavy cream or half & half that’s been frothed with Switch to Zero drops. Earl Grey with honey.
4. What’s your dream travel destination and why?
For me, it’s not about the dream location, but instead about the “dream travel group” having experiences. Traveling with those I love and enjoy life with the most making memories together is the dream destination.
5. Tell us a surprising or a fun fact about you.
I started my first side gig at age 12, was running my first business at 15. and by the AOL days of the early internet in my early 20s I was marketing my friend’s bands online using GeoCities websites and chat rooms to find their fans.
6. What’s your role at SIOR, and what does a typical day look like?
I’m an executive assistant to our executive leadership at SIOR. No two days have ever looked the same. I handle all requests delegated to from leadership to assist our home office staff, members, vendors, and sponsors.
7. If you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Bibimbap (Korean dish)
8. What is your favorite season and why?
Spring, because winter is over and I’m not a sub-zero cold loving person.
9. What’s your favorite way to unwind after a busy week?
Sunsets and live music.
10. How would your coworkers [or friends] describe you in three words?
Always connecting dots.
