Get to know the people who keep SIOR HQ moving forward. Patrick Harrison, Technology Administrator, joined the team in 2023 and brings insight and technical know-how to the team. From favorite travel destinations to his love of lasagna, Patrick shares a few personal insights and quick takes. Read on for 10 questions with Patrick.
1. What’s one project or initiative you’re most proud of?
We have been consistently improving the tech stack supporting member services. I enjoy being able to take advantage of new functionality to streamline our daily processes.
2. How does your work contribute to SIOR’s overall mission?I believe my work helps drive SIOR’s mission by ensuring our technology empowers the team to connect, innovate, and serve our members seamlessly.
3. How would your coworkers [or friends] describe you in three words?
Curious, Technical, Strategic
4. What’s your dream travel destination and why?
I’ve skied all over Canada and the US, but I’d love to experience the winter mountains in Italy, Austria, or Switzerland.
5. Tell us a surprising or a fun fact about you.
About 10 years ago, my then toddler told me I had a severe lack of circus skills so I learned to ride a unicycle. I then learned he expected me to juggle, too.
6. What’s your role at SIOR, and what does a typical day look like?
My role at SIOR involves supporting the team with all things tech, troubleshooting, and resolving issues to keep our systems running smoothly. A typical day is a mix of problem-solving, collaborating with colleagues, and reviewing processes.
7. What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I’ve ever received is: “Don’t be afraid to ask questions.” It’s the fastest way to learn.
8. If you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Lasagna. It’s always good and tastes even better the next day.
9. What’s something unique about the SIOR HQ team that you think people should know?
The team here at HQ is really dedicated. It’s a pleasure to work with a group where we all have the same focus on member service.
10. What is your favorite food?
Still lasagna 😉
