Get to know the people who keep SIOR HQ moving forward. Emma Steinberg, Digital Media Specialist, joined SIOR in 2025 and brings lots of creativity and humor to the team. From favorite foods to hidden talents, Emma shares a little about herself in this edition of Meet the HQ Team. Read on for 10 questions with Emma.
1. What’s your role at SIOR, and what does a typical day look like?
I am the Digital Media Specialist at SIOR. While not every day is the same, I usually spend my mornings checking all of our social media channels, planning upcoming posts, and working on graphics & captions. I then will work on other tasks to support the rest of the HQ team, update the SIOR weekly, the SIOR website, and a lot of other things you may see online.
2. How would your coworkers or friends describe you in three words?Outgoing & detail-oriented
3. What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
"If something is meant to be, it will happen."
4. Tell us a surprising or a fun fact about you.
I can speak gibberish!
5. If you could swap jobs with anyone on the team for a day, who would it be?
Matthew! Working in Europe for a day doesn't sound too bad 🙂
6. What’s your favorite way to unwind after a busy week?
Hanging out with friends, going on walks, & eating good food.
7. Are you more of an early bird or night owl?
It has changed over the years, but for now I am an early bird!
8. Coffee or tea and how do you take it?
Tea — my favorites are mint and black tea. I actually don't drink coffee (maybe that should have been my fun fact since people think it's crazy!)
9. If you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I have thought about this a lot. If I can mix and match it would be: chicken noodle soup, jalapeno steak, baked potato (with cheese & bacon), & homemade Greek salad OR pasta salad. But if it had to come from a restaurant, it would be the chicken fajitas from Jose Tejas (also known as Border Cafe).
10. What’s your dream travel destination and why?
It changes a lot since I am easily influenced by people traveling, but right now it's Banff when it's warm out!
